"There are things that are not sayable. That’s why we have art"

I’ve been making art for the past five years. My first obsession was clouds. I am inspired by the infinite variety of shapes that are possible. For two years I painted nothing but imaginary clouds. Finally, I felt ready to move on.
For the past few years I’ve been experimenting with materials. I use acrylic and gesso, pumice, and matte medium on various substrates including canvas, cardboard and plastic. I add packing paper, a variety of found objects and/or natural materials such as eucalyptus seeds, tree bark and driftwood.
For most of my creations, I begin with a blank slate and play with material and color until something begins to emerge. I work and rework a piece until it seems “done.” I’m interested in the creative process and the manifestation of something out of infinite possibility. The joy of the doing is what drives me.
